June Favourites 2018

Wow! This year is going so fast! Plus the next 2 months are going to be mad for me because I’m basically going to be working full time! So no doubt July and August are going to pass by in a blur!

So what have I been loving this month?

Firstly, Disney Life!Β I’ve been debating whether to subscribe to Disney Life for quite a while now but hadn’t yet done it. I quite often spend time away for work and have days to fill. I love Disney films but there are quite a lot of the older films that I haven’t yet seen, and loads of these are all on Disney Life. Plus there’s loads of soundtracks on there which I can download on to my phone for when I’m driving. It all only costs Β£4.99 a month so pretty good. I’m not sure how long I’ll keep it for but so far I’m loving it.

The second thing I’ve been loving this month is Suncream! We’ve had a spell of really hot weather here with temperatures set to reach around 35 degrees c this weekend. I work outside, and I’m also ginger with incredibly pale skin. Suncream is gross to put on but it saves me the pain of getting burnt, and my favourite Suncream is the Boots own brand 50+ once. One application lasts 8 hours! I think this year too that for the first time in my life I’m going to finish a bottle of suncream in a year.

Also this month I’ve really been liking my Chilly’s Bottle and Moon Bottle. It has been so warm the last week and it’s been so nice to have a bottle of water which I know will stay cold all day.

Photo 22-06-2018, 10 56 40

Again, I know this was a favourite last month too but I’ve been loving playing Sims 3 still. I haven’t played it this week though as I’ve had so much to get on with but it’s still great fun and an excellent way to kill several hours!

I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned my next favourite before but its the Child’s Farm Moisturiser. I suffer from eczema, particularly in the summer and the Child’s Farm moisturiser is brilliant. It does a pretty good job at clearing the eczema up but it also smells amazing! I’ve had a lot of issues getting hold of it recently though because more and more places are talking about how good it is, meaning everyone is going out to buy it and I can never get hold of it! 😦

Photo 28-06-2018, 10 45 36

Last year I showed you my Fat Face T-Shirt that had whales on. Well this year Fat Face have released a Big Cat version, which I just had to get my hands on!

I’ve also been loving this month my new camera. I’ve been thinking about getting a Canon G7X for a while. I wanted a compact camera with some of the same kind of functions as a DSLR and the G7X fitted this perfectly. I spent ages debating over whether to get it or not and have been keeping an eye on the second hand camera website that my dad has used in the past. Last week then they had a second hand excellent condition G7X (Mk 1) in stock and I decided to treat myself. I’m enjoying getting to grips with some of its functions as well as learning about aperture, iso etc. πŸ™‚

Finally, my last favourite this month is American Ninja Warrior. I’ve watched the UK one since it started but I hadn’t yet seen the American one. Anyway, there’s a TV channel called Challenge here and one afternoon I found they were showing the American version on there. Now I’m hooked! πŸ™‚

What have you been loving this month? πŸ™‚

Favourite Disney Movies!

I LOVE Disney films! I mean who doesn’t right? I’m such a sucker for kids films that 90% of the DVDs I own are in fact kids films. Disney played a pretty big role in my life growing up (as I think it does with most kids).

I also recently subscribed to DisneyLife. Sky Movies is pretty good at showing loads of Disney films but what annoys me is that I can only download each film 3 times… I’ve already done that for most of my favourite Disney films so I decided to get a DisneyLife subscription.

So what are my favourite Disney films? πŸ™‚

Pocahontas is probably *the* Disney film that I loved the most growing up. I remember when I used to wake up really early in the mornings my dad used to put Pocahontas on for me downstairs.

Lion King

OK, so who doesn’t like the Lion King! Again, this is another film me and my brother grew up watching. I still love watching it to this day.

Toy Story & Toy Story 3

I’m not so much a fan of Toy Story 2 but I love Toy Story and Toy Story 3. Me and my brother went to go and see Toy Story 3 in the cinema when it came out and both of us *might* have got a bit emotional at the end!

I first watched Ratatouille several years after it came out but I fell in love with it right away.

Again, I watched this quite a long time after it came out for the first time. I saw it on Sky Movies and gave it a watch and absolutely loved it πŸ™‚

I watched Moana for the first time last year with my friends and absolutely loved it. The songs are all so catchy and I was singing them for ages after watching the film.

Monsters Inc

I think this was one of the first Disney films I went to see in the cinema. I absolutely loved it, especially little Boo. I still absolutely love this film to the day and even went to the cinema to see Monsters University when it came out.

Inside Out

I watched this for the first time while I was working in school and I actually sat there with the kids and watched it. I was just as hooked as they all were and I just think it is such a brilliant film for trying to explain emotions to kids.

Finding Nemo & Finding DoryΒ

I don’t think I really need to explain this one… I’m a marine biologist!

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! What are your favourite Disney films? πŸ™‚Β

Cath Kidston Mug Collection

If you’ve been following me on here for a while now it will come as no surprise to you that I love Cath Kidston, and over the last few years I have gained quite a collection of Cath Kidston stuff. One thing which I love the most though is my Cath Kidston mug collection and today I wanted to share it with you πŸ™‚

Photo 07-06-2018, 13 17 06

Back in September 2016 Cath Kidston launched their first collaboration with Disney. It was a Winnie the Pooh collection and it was even more limited edition than all the other collections they have released since. Anyway, I’m one of the lucky ones who managed to grab some of the Winnie the Pooh stuff and the mug sits proudly on my bookcase (top left).

Next up Cath Kidston launched a Mickey Mouse collection in December 2016. I was absolutely gutted at first when I couldn’t get hold of the two mugs (top shelf in the middle). But I did manage to get the third mug in that collection (second in from right on top shelf). Anyway, I phoned my aunt who lived quite close to a Cath Kidston store and she rushed in to town and managed to pick up the red one for me, so I was pretty happy! Then this year for Christmas she gave me a second one so I actually have 2 of the Red Spot Mickey mugs πŸ™‚ I kept refreshing the website for days and it paid off and a couple of the Blue Minnie mugs went back on the site so I quickly grabbed it!

The third Cath Kidston collab with Disney was a 101 Dalmatians one in May 2017. I wasn’t so keen on it but I still picked up a few things, including two of the mugs (second in from left top shelf and top right). The black spot mug also came in pink which my mum has, but again, all these mugs sold out.

Photo 07-06-2018, 13 17 22

Are you still with me? πŸ˜€

In September 2017 Cath Kidston released their fourth Disney collab, this time Peter Pan πŸ™‚ They had a few mugs in the collection but this time I only got a couple of them as I wasn’t so sure about the others. I quite like both the Peter Pan mugs I have (above photo, bottom shelf, last 2 on the right).

This is where Cath Kidston started releasing loads of mugs in their Disney collection so I had to stop buying so many!

November 2017 saw the release of the fifth collab, this time another Mickey Mouse one. There were LOADS of mugs that came out as part of this collection but I decided on two to get (above photo, bottom shelf, the two in the middle).

My last Cath Kidston x Disney collab mugs come from the latest Alice in Wonderland collection. Again, Cath Kidston released so many mugs in this collection so I had to decide which I wanted. I got the Alice spot mug (above photo, bottom shelf, second left) as well as the Alice vase (above photo, bottom shelf, first on left). I love the print on the vase!

As well as my Disney mugs I do have a few other favourite CK mugs πŸ™‚

Photo 07-06-2018, 13 17 10

I have my penguin mug, fish mug and polar bear mug. I love all three of them! πŸ™‚

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and that it wasn’t too rambly?! Which is your favourite? πŸ™‚

May Favourites 2018

I can’t quite believe it is time to write a favourites post again! It only seems like the other day I was writing my April favourites post! Again, I don’t have too many things to put in this month’s favourites but here we go πŸ™‚

First thing I’ve been loving this month is the song “This is Me” from “The Greatest Showman”. I’ve not actually seen the film yet (I’m waiting for it to be cheaper to rent online) but I do plan to, but recently they’ve been playing this loads on the radio and I’ve come to love it πŸ™‚

Second thing I’ve been loving this month is Teen Mom UK. I remember when I finished my A Levels I spent loads of time watching 16 and pregnant. Anyway, I was searching Sky for something new to watch and I found Teen Mom UK. I then watched all 3 seasons in a couple of days.

My next favourite this month is Sims 3! Yes I know Sims 4 is out but I don’t like it (don’t tell my brother that, he works for EA). I hadn’t played Sims in so long but I randomly decided to play it again the other day and now I can’t stop playing!

I’ve also bought a new water bottle this month. I love my Camelbak Eddy water bottle and was absolutely gutted when it started leaking the other week. So I ended up buying a new one (well, first I tried replacing some of the parts to it and that failed so I worked out it must be the bottle broken). It has been so hot at work recently and I’ve really appreciated having my water bottle.

Photo 31-05-2018, 10 48 32

My next favourite is something that I had been using before but for some reason I stopped using it for a while. I had some really dry patches of skin on my legs (because of the hot weather) so decided I’d try my Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter again. Actually, I can’t believe I stopped using it! It smells lovely and is really moisturising.

Last but not least, this month I’ve been loving the Cath Kidston Alice in Wonderland collection. OK, well that’s a bit of a lie because I’m not loving *all* of it, but there are a few items that I love. This time round I only bought a couple of bits as it is all getting quite samey, I didn’t really *need* anything else and I didn’t like too many of the things.

Photo 30-05-2018, 17 09 33

One of the things I did love was the bedding. Now, I have a single bed at home and it was Β£65 for the single bedding and I wasn’t going to buy it. Then we went to the shop in Guildford and they said they’d sold out of it all (the double had sold out online), but there was still some single bedding left online. Anyway, as I said I wasn’t going to buy it as Β£65 is a lot of money, but then my mum surprised me and ordered it for me. But I absolutely love it! πŸ™‚

So there we have my May favourites πŸ™‚ What have you been enjoying this month? πŸ™‚

Empties #1

So here is my first ever empties post! I’ve fancied doing an empties post for so long, but the problem is it takes me forever to go through things so I have to hoard for ages! I’m not quite sure how long its taken me to collect all of this, but I finally have some empties for you! πŸ™‚

I love empties posts, mainly to get recommendations of things, but also I think I’m just a bit nosey… Like those what’s in my bag posts. Anyway, here are the empties I’ve accumulated to share πŸ™‚

Photo 24-05-2018, 13 50 09

Water Wipes – I bought these last month just after I’d had the cyst removed from my face. I couldn’t wash my face properly for 10 days so I used these. OK the environmental side of me doesn’t like that these aren’t biodegradable but they’ve actually been really nice to use. They don’t feel anything like other wipes and they are actually really hydrating because they’re 99% water and 1% grapefruit oil or something. Would I buy again? Yes, probably πŸ™‚

Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief – I’ve been using this toothpaste for around 4 years now I think. So, safe to say I think it’s pretty good. Only thing is is can be quite expensive unless you grab it on offer (or at Costco!). Would I buy again? Already have!Β

Photo 24-05-2018, 13 50 30

Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel – I quite like these shower gels. I only buy them on offer though! They’re really nice to use and smell so nice! Only thing is they’re quite expensive (unless on offer). Would I buy again? Probably… Once I’ve used up all the other shower gels I have! πŸ™‚

Superdrug Lens Wipes – Dirty glasses are annoying, especially when you’re out and about. I actually bought these to keep in my car but I also keep a couple in my work bag and in my handbag. If you wear glasses you’ll appreciate what I mean about nothing beats clean glasses! They are pretty good and do the trick. Would I buy again? Yes, already have πŸ™‚

Photo 24-05-2018, 13 50 24

Carex Hand Soap (original) – OK, I know there are cheaper soaps out there but I love the smell of this. Plus we always buy it at Costco so it’s a good deal. Would I buy again? Yes, we already have πŸ™‚

Vaseline Aloe Vera Moisturiser – I LOVE this moisturiser. It smells nice and isn’t too greasy and it always sinks in quickly. I’ve been using this for a while now and it works well. Again, it can be expensive but Superdrug have it on offer 90% of the time. Would I buy again? Yes, already have! πŸ™‚

Sure Roll On Bright Bouquet – I go through phases with deodorant, sometimes I like roll on, other times I like spray. I tend to use roll on when I travel though. I love the smell of this (strawberry and apricot) and it does the job pretty well. Would I buy again? Yes, probably when I run out of my latest deodorant πŸ™‚

Carex Moisture Plus Hand Gel – Well, this needs no explanation really! Would I buy again? Yes, already have! πŸ™‚

Blistex Intensive Moisturiser – This is honestly the BEST lip balm ever. It basically sorts lips out overnight if they’re sore or anything. Would I buy again? YES!!! πŸ™‚

Photo 24-05-2018, 13 50 27

So that’s all for my first empties post. I hope you all enjoyed it πŸ™‚

See you again soon πŸ™‚

April Favourites 2018

It’s that time again, time for another favourites post! πŸ™‚ I don’t think there’s too much on this month’s favourites but I’ll do my best to share with you πŸ™‚

Contigo Travel Mug

Photo 08-05-2018, 13 39 00

OK, so I don’t think I’ll be wanting this again for a while but I wanted a travel mug. I have several plastic travel mugs already but none of them would hold my tea and keep it warm for 1h +, and with my commute being an hour at least I wanted to get a better thermal cup so I could take tea to work with me. I bought the Contigo Byron travel mug and can confirm my tea was still boiling hot after around 1h 30min, so it definitely works!

Blackout Blind

The blind on my window is supposed to be a blackout blind already but it really isn’t, and with the hours I work it is quite important for me to wake up a bit later so I feel I can safely drive home at 11pm. As it has got sunnier in the mornings I’m being woken up by sun right in my face, so I decided it was time to buy a stick on blackout blind. OK I know it is designed for kids but it is wonderful! I’m now getting all the sleep I need on the nights before/I’m working and I can just take it off when I’m not working.

Breville Blend Active

Photo 08-05-2018, 13 52 35

Now it’s getting warmer my smoothie maker has found its way back out! I love my little smoothie maker and am looking forward to making lot of summery drinks.

Ninja Warrior UK

I LOVE this show! It is great fun and I love it! Nothing more to say really! I recommend giving it a watch if you haven’t πŸ™‚

That’s about it for my favourites this month but I’ll be back again soon for my May favourites πŸ™‚

March Favourites 2018

I know I say this at the start of every favourites post, but can anyone believe it is April next week?! March seems to have flown by where the last 2 weeks for me have been insane having started my new job!

Out of interest, would anyone be interested in me doing a day in the life post for when I’m working?

So, what have I been loving this month?

Photo 28-02-2018, 21 55 13

Yes, OK call me an old granny but I get cold easily. We’ve had a fair bit of snow throughout March here and it has been freezing! As well as this I now work 4pm – 10:30pm which is really cold! Safe to say my thermals have been my best friend this month!

Woolly hat

Photo 28-03-2018, 09 46 49

Back at the start of March I was in the Isle of Man and it was cold… really really cold! My hat that I did have wasn’t big enough to cover my ears so I picked up a new one. This one is lovely and warm and fleece lined!

Sat NavΒ

Photo 28-03-2018, 09 47 17

Since starting work my sat nav has been my best friend. OK, so I now know how to get to and from work sticking to the main roads, but the roads aren’t often my friend. My Sat Nav has traffic and it is great at showing delays on my route as well as showing me alternative, quicker routes. It’s now got me out of slow motorway traffic three times and it was definitely a great investment/Christmas present. (It is a TomTom Go 5100).

Strawberry Hand GelΒ

Photo 28-03-2018, 09 46 22

I love things from the Body Shop but quite often they’re really expensive. Anyway, a couple of years ago I bought this strawberry hand gel to try and I’ve only just got round to using it. It smells lovely and unlike a lot of other hand gels the smell seems to linger on my hands for ages after using it. It’s probably around double the price of usual hand gels but I may treat myself to another one again in the future.

Blistex Lip Balm and Vaseline Aloe Vera Body Lotion

Where it has been cold this month my skin has been suffering badly. But both this Blistex intensive lip moisturiser and Vaseline body lotion have really helped soothe my skin. If you get sore lips I really recommend the lip balm! It works wonders!

Imperial Leather Foamburst MarshmallowΒ

Photo 26-02-2018, 16 29 13

I’ve never used a foamburst shower gel before and when I saw there was a marshmallow one out I couldn’t wait to try it. I absolutely love it! It smells fantastic and it really lingers on your skin afterwards.

I feel like I’ve done quite a bit of baking through March. I’ve made lots of cupcakes, easter nests as well as a pigs in mud birthday cake. Plus today I’m planning on making some banana bread (we have some bananas that are overripe).

My Job

Photo 25-03-2018, 19 27 37

OK, so as you read this I’ve only done 2 shifts but I know I’m going to love it. Once I’ve settled in properly, done some revision on my animals and know what I’m doing I know I’m going to absolutely love it!

So that’s all my favourites for March. What have you been enjoying in March? πŸ™‚ Also, don’t forget to let me know if you’d like a day in my life at work post? πŸ™‚
