January Favourites 2019

Can you believe it’s 2019?! And we’ve reached the end of January! I’m not going to lie, January has dragged so badly for me as I’ve been in a weird sort of limbo waiting to hear if I’ve got my job back next year. If all goes well I’ll be starting work again any day.

I don’t feel like I’ve got too many favourites to share this month, but I will share the few favourites that I have got!

photo 29-01-2019, 15 04 08

First up is the Cath Kidston Bambi Range. I actually got quite a lot of it for Christmas but I then decided to buy this bag a couple of weeks ago now. I wanted a rucksack which wasn’t too big or too small and this has basically fulfilled that niche. I absolutely love the CK Bambi range, I don’t think it’ll beat the original Winnie the Pooh, but this is definitely one of my favourites.

Secondly is this amazing penguin mug. I don’t even know where they got it from but this was a belated Christmas present I got given last week. It’s extra special because it’s from the family of the little boy I was a LSA for a couple of years ago and they went out of their way to find it for me. It’s so cute and has joined my shelf of mugs for display only.

The last couple of weeks we’ve had a bit of a cold spell here and I’ve finally actually been needing to wrap up warm when I go outside. I’ve been loving wearing my Fat Face wooly hat that I bought a couple of months ago, and I get so many compliments about this hat too!

photo 24-01-2019, 09 42 22

For Christmas I also received this duvet cover from Fat Face. It is possibly one of the snuggliest duvet covers I’ve ever owned! It’s so soft and I absolutely love it.

My final favourite for January is my Camp Blanket. Excuse the crap photo of it! Camp Blankets are pretty standard for any member (particularly leaders) of Girlguiding/Scouting. They’re basically blankets which you can sew all of your badges on to and can be taken on guide camps etc. I’ve been enjoying adding badges to my blanket the last few months which I’ve “earned” as a leader, but I’ve also started to add some of my original Brownie badges to it from when I was in Brownies!

Oh, also I’ve been loving A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix (although I am a tad disappointed at how rushed the ending was!), Silent Witness and of course Call the Midwife.

So that’s it for my January favourites! What have you been enjoying in January? 🙂

November Favourites 2018

It’s basically December! How did that happen?! So I missed an October Favourites, but I’m back today to share with you my favourites from this month.

Also, on this note, I’m not going to be doing Blogmas this year. I will probably post Christmassy things but I’m not going to do Blogmas properly.

So, what have I been enjoying? 🙂

Photo 26-11-2018, 13 19 51

First up is my collage canvas of photos from my trip to South Africa at the start of the year. Mum and dad have one of these collage canvases downstairs and I loved the idea of having my own one from my trip. I’d been thinking about getting one for ages but never bought it. Anyway, I asked for it for my birthday and my dad bought it for me as one of my birthday presents.

Photo 26-11-2018, 13 22 36

My next favourite is my new woolly hat from Fat Face. I’d seen this hat online and loved the look of it but waited to get in to town to try it on before buying. It is lovely and warm and is big enough to cover my ears (always a bonus)! One of the best things I love about it is that it was hand knitted in Nepal by people affected by the 2015 earthquake, with some of the proceeds from this hat going back to help them which is brilliant.

I’ve also loved my Contigo travel mug. Not so much during November, but through October this was amazing. I was at work and it was so cold, so I was making hot chocolate whenever I could and keeping it in this travel mug. It kept it boiling hot for hours.

I’ve told you all about Child’s Farm moisturiser before but as it’s getting colder my eczema on my hands is getting bad again and this stuff is amazing.

I’ve also been loving my little Canon G7X. I was debating for a while whether to get this or not but I decided to treat myself to it back in the summer. I’ve been so impressed with the results it’s given me, and although it’s not as good for zoom as my other camera, the G7X doesn’t disappoint on more landscape/close up photography. Below are some photos taken with my G7X.

This month I’ve managed to do some more reading since I’ve not been working. One of the books which I loved is the Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan.

Next up is my Anker Soundcore Mini Bluetooth Speaker. This was actually my mum’s, but she forgot that she had it and bought a new speaker so I kind of acquired this! This is great for taking downstairs with me when I’m cooking or baking and the sound from it is pretty decent too.

Over Black Friday weekend I decided to treat myself to a FitBit Charge 2. OK, you could say it was a bit of an impulse buy but I had been looking at some kind of smart/activity tracker for a while. It was on a pretty good offer and I fell in love with the colour of it. I’m also expecting that over the next month I’m going to be pretty active again so I’d love to be able to keep track of my activity. I’m also thinking about starting running again so this would be great to use with that too.

For my birthday I bought Lego Harry Potter. My brother gave me permission to use his PS4 and as I was getting so bored sitting around struggling to find jobs to apply for, Lego Harry Potter provided me with something to do to help occupy myself. I’m only just in to year 2, but can’t wait to play some more.

I included this already in my September Favourites but as it’s been getting colder I’ve been loving my Next star jumper more and more. It’s like having a Christmas jumper which you can get away with wearing all year. It’s so warm and amazing. I’m so glad I bought it.

And finally, my last favourite for this month are my Marks and Spencer boots. These were another of my birthday presents and I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. When I first got them I debated for ages whether to take them back or not because they kept slipping at the back and I almost gave up hope. Insoles didn’t make any difference and I was sad… And then I decided to try my walking boot socks and they fitted perfectly!

So I hope you enjoyed today’s post. What have you been enjoying through November? 🙂

Also, I forgot to mention “I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here”!

September Favourites 2018

Can you believe I’ve not written a favourites post since June?! Anyway, I enjoy writing a favourites post, so today I thought I’d share with you what I’ve been enjoying throughout September and since June really 🙂

Photo 27-09-2018, 13 17 04

First up is my puzzle book, I actually keep this in my car. I tend to arrive at work on average an hour early (I always give myself loads of time to get around the M25) so I like having something to do when I get there. I tried a generic puzzle book, but I’ve now discovered I prefer the Kriss-Koss ones

The second thing I’ve been enjoying is my work and the baby tigers. I’m still absolutely loving my job and I’m gutted that it is quickly approaching the end of the season, but I absolutely love what I do. Also, I love the baby tigers. I need to try to get some new photos of them but they’re getting so fun. They’re getting bigger, braver and more adventurous and are so funny to watch.

While I was working all through the summer I kept seeing this sloth in the shop at work. I passed them every day and I loved them. Anyway, I couldn’t justify £20 (well £16 with staff discount) for it. I took several friends to the zoo over the start of September and my aunt bought it for me as a little thank you.

Photo 09-09-2018, 19 41 04

I was a bit bad during September in that I bought a few new clothes. I didn’t really need them but I haven’t bought new clothes in so long! I bought a couple of tops and some dungarees from Fat Face as well as this jumper from Next. The jumper is amazing. It is so warm and fluffy 🙂

Photo 27-09-2018, 13 17 04

I’ve been enjoying learning more about photography too during the last few months. I’ve been enjoying taking photos at the zoo, but also I took my first night sky photos the other day too which I’m in love with 🙂

I’ve been suffering quite a lot with eczema over the summer and there is one moisturiser which is like a miracle moisturiser for me. Child’s Farm moisturiser is amazing. It smells great and it really clears up any dry skin and eczema.

I’ve also been enjoying a couple of TV shows this month, including Teen Mom UK, Ultimate Beastmaster and Great British Bake Off 🙂

The last thing of my favourites this month is “Ellie and Anna Have Issues” podcast. Ellie and Anna have a show on London Heart Radio on a Sunday night and I always catch it driving home from work. Anyway, they’ve made a podcast of it all, which I’ve been loving 🙂

What have you been enjoying recently? 🙂

June Favourites 2018

Wow! This year is going so fast! Plus the next 2 months are going to be mad for me because I’m basically going to be working full time! So no doubt July and August are going to pass by in a blur!

So what have I been loving this month?

Firstly, Disney Life! I’ve been debating whether to subscribe to Disney Life for quite a while now but hadn’t yet done it. I quite often spend time away for work and have days to fill. I love Disney films but there are quite a lot of the older films that I haven’t yet seen, and loads of these are all on Disney Life. Plus there’s loads of soundtracks on there which I can download on to my phone for when I’m driving. It all only costs £4.99 a month so pretty good. I’m not sure how long I’ll keep it for but so far I’m loving it.

The second thing I’ve been loving this month is Suncream! We’ve had a spell of really hot weather here with temperatures set to reach around 35 degrees c this weekend. I work outside, and I’m also ginger with incredibly pale skin. Suncream is gross to put on but it saves me the pain of getting burnt, and my favourite Suncream is the Boots own brand 50+ once. One application lasts 8 hours! I think this year too that for the first time in my life I’m going to finish a bottle of suncream in a year.

Photo 28-06-2018, 10 45 36

Also this month I’ve really been liking my Chilly’s Bottle and Moon Bottle. It has been so warm the last week and it’s been so nice to have a bottle of water which I know will stay cold all day.

Photo 22-06-2018, 10 56 40

Again, I know this was a favourite last month too but I’ve been loving playing Sims 3 still. I haven’t played it this week though as I’ve had so much to get on with but it’s still great fun and an excellent way to kill several hours!

I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned my next favourite before but its the Child’s Farm Moisturiser. I suffer from eczema, particularly in the summer and the Child’s Farm moisturiser is brilliant. It does a pretty good job at clearing the eczema up but it also smells amazing! I’ve had a lot of issues getting hold of it recently though because more and more places are talking about how good it is, meaning everyone is going out to buy it and I can never get hold of it! 😦

Photo 28-06-2018, 10 45 36

Last year I showed you my Fat Face T-Shirt that had whales on. Well this year Fat Face have released a Big Cat version, which I just had to get my hands on!

I’ve also been loving this month my new camera. I’ve been thinking about getting a Canon G7X for a while. I wanted a compact camera with some of the same kind of functions as a DSLR and the G7X fitted this perfectly. I spent ages debating over whether to get it or not and have been keeping an eye on the second hand camera website that my dad has used in the past. Last week then they had a second hand excellent condition G7X (Mk 1) in stock and I decided to treat myself. I’m enjoying getting to grips with some of its functions as well as learning about aperture, iso etc. 🙂

Photo 22-06-2018, 19 33 11

Finally, my last favourite this month is American Ninja Warrior. I’ve watched the UK one since it started but I hadn’t yet seen the American one. Anyway, there’s a TV channel called Challenge here and one afternoon I found they were showing the American version on there. Now I’m hooked! 🙂

What have you been loving this month? 🙂

Favourite Disney Movies!

I LOVE Disney films! I mean who doesn’t right? I’m such a sucker for kids films that 90% of the DVDs I own are in fact kids films. Disney played a pretty big role in my life growing up (as I think it does with most kids).

I also recently subscribed to DisneyLife. Sky Movies is pretty good at showing loads of Disney films but what annoys me is that I can only download each film 3 times… I’ve already done that for most of my favourite Disney films so I decided to get a DisneyLife subscription.

So what are my favourite Disney films? 🙂

Pocahontas is probably *the* Disney film that I loved the most growing up. I remember when I used to wake up really early in the mornings my dad used to put Pocahontas on for me downstairs.

Lion King

OK, so who doesn’t like the Lion King! Again, this is another film me and my brother grew up watching. I still love watching it to this day.

Toy Story & Toy Story 3

I’m not so much a fan of Toy Story 2 but I love Toy Story and Toy Story 3. Me and my brother went to go and see Toy Story 3 in the cinema when it came out and both of us *might* have got a bit emotional at the end!

I first watched Ratatouille several years after it came out but I fell in love with it right away.

Again, I watched this quite a long time after it came out for the first time. I saw it on Sky Movies and gave it a watch and absolutely loved it 🙂

I watched Moana for the first time last year with my friends and absolutely loved it. The songs are all so catchy and I was singing them for ages after watching the film.

Monsters Inc

I think this was one of the first Disney films I went to see in the cinema. I absolutely loved it, especially little Boo. I still absolutely love this film to the day and even went to the cinema to see Monsters University when it came out.

Inside Out

I watched this for the first time while I was working in school and I actually sat there with the kids and watched it. I was just as hooked as they all were and I just think it is such a brilliant film for trying to explain emotions to kids.

Finding Nemo & Finding Dory

I don’t think I really need to explain this one… I’m a marine biologist!

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! What are your favourite Disney films? 🙂

Cath Kidston Mug Collection

If you’ve been following me on here for a while now it will come as no surprise to you that I love Cath Kidston, and over the last few years I have gained quite a collection of Cath Kidston stuff. One thing which I love the most though is my Cath Kidston mug collection and today I wanted to share it with you 🙂

Photo 07-06-2018, 13 17 06

Back in September 2016 Cath Kidston launched their first collaboration with Disney. It was a Winnie the Pooh collection and it was even more limited edition than all the other collections they have released since. Anyway, I’m one of the lucky ones who managed to grab some of the Winnie the Pooh stuff and the mug sits proudly on my bookcase (top left).

Next up Cath Kidston launched a Mickey Mouse collection in December 2016. I was absolutely gutted at first when I couldn’t get hold of the two mugs (top shelf in the middle). But I did manage to get the third mug in that collection (second in from right on top shelf). Anyway, I phoned my aunt who lived quite close to a Cath Kidston store and she rushed in to town and managed to pick up the red one for me, so I was pretty happy! Then this year for Christmas she gave me a second one so I actually have 2 of the Red Spot Mickey mugs 🙂 I kept refreshing the website for days and it paid off and a couple of the Blue Minnie mugs went back on the site so I quickly grabbed it!

The third Cath Kidston collab with Disney was a 101 Dalmatians one in May 2017. I wasn’t so keen on it but I still picked up a few things, including two of the mugs (second in from left top shelf and top right). The black spot mug also came in pink which my mum has, but again, all these mugs sold out.

Photo 07-06-2018, 13 17 22

Are you still with me? 😀

In September 2017 Cath Kidston released their fourth Disney collab, this time Peter Pan 🙂 They had a few mugs in the collection but this time I only got a couple of them as I wasn’t so sure about the others. I quite like both the Peter Pan mugs I have (above photo, bottom shelf, last 2 on the right).

This is where Cath Kidston started releasing loads of mugs in their Disney collection so I had to stop buying so many!

November 2017 saw the release of the fifth collab, this time another Mickey Mouse one. There were LOADS of mugs that came out as part of this collection but I decided on two to get (above photo, bottom shelf, the two in the middle).

My last Cath Kidston x Disney collab mugs come from the latest Alice in Wonderland collection. Again, Cath Kidston released so many mugs in this collection so I had to decide which I wanted. I got the Alice spot mug (above photo, bottom shelf, second left) as well as the Alice vase (above photo, bottom shelf, first on left). I love the print on the vase!

As well as my Disney mugs I do have a few other favourite CK mugs 🙂

Photo 07-06-2018, 13 17 10

I have my penguin mug, fish mug and polar bear mug. I love all three of them! 🙂

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and that it wasn’t too rambly?! Which is your favourite? 🙂

May Favourites 2018

I can’t quite believe it is time to write a favourites post again! It only seems like the other day I was writing my April favourites post! Again, I don’t have too many things to put in this month’s favourites but here we go 🙂

First thing I’ve been loving this month is the song “This is Me” from “The Greatest Showman”. I’ve not actually seen the film yet (I’m waiting for it to be cheaper to rent online) but I do plan to, but recently they’ve been playing this loads on the radio and I’ve come to love it 🙂

Second thing I’ve been loving this month is Teen Mom UK. I remember when I finished my A Levels I spent loads of time watching 16 and pregnant. Anyway, I was searching Sky for something new to watch and I found Teen Mom UK. I then watched all 3 seasons in a couple of days.

My next favourite this month is Sims 3! Yes I know Sims 4 is out but I don’t like it (don’t tell my brother that, he works for EA). I hadn’t played Sims in so long but I randomly decided to play it again the other day and now I can’t stop playing!

I’ve also bought a new water bottle this month. I love my Camelbak Eddy water bottle and was absolutely gutted when it started leaking the other week. So I ended up buying a new one (well, first I tried replacing some of the parts to it and that failed so I worked out it must be the bottle broken). It has been so hot at work recently and I’ve really appreciated having my water bottle.

Photo 31-05-2018, 10 48 32

My next favourite is something that I had been using before but for some reason I stopped using it for a while. I had some really dry patches of skin on my legs (because of the hot weather) so decided I’d try my Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter again. Actually, I can’t believe I stopped using it! It smells lovely and is really moisturising.

Last but not least, this month I’ve been loving the Cath Kidston Alice in Wonderland collection. OK, well that’s a bit of a lie because I’m not loving *all* of it, but there are a few items that I love. This time round I only bought a couple of bits as it is all getting quite samey, I didn’t really *need* anything else and I didn’t like too many of the things.

Photo 30-05-2018, 17 09 33

One of the things I did love was the bedding. Now, I have a single bed at home and it was £65 for the single bedding and I wasn’t going to buy it. Then we went to the shop in Guildford and they said they’d sold out of it all (the double had sold out online), but there was still some single bedding left online. Anyway, as I said I wasn’t going to buy it as £65 is a lot of money, but then my mum surprised me and ordered it for me. But I absolutely love it! 🙂

Photo 30-05-2018, 14 40 09Photo 30-05-2018, 14 45 58

So there we have my May favourites 🙂 What have you been enjoying this month? 🙂
