Today’s post is a bit random, but I saw this A-Z Reading Survey last night and thought I’d give it a go 🙂 So here goes…
AUTHOR YOU’VE READ THE MOST BOOKS FROM:
According to Goodreads it is Robert Muchamore, which isn’t surprising if you look at my bookcase!
BEST SEQUEL EVER:
Always with Love – Giovanna Fletcher
The Vile Village – Lemony Snicket (I’m trying to be up to date with the books before the next episodes come out on Netflix).
DRINK OF CHOICE WHILE READING:
Hot Chocolate 🙂
E-READER OR PHYSICAL BOOK?
Both. More recently I’ve read quite a few Kindle books because there have been a few for 99p in Amazon’s Kindle Daily deals that I’ve fancied 🙂 I still prefer physical books but I’m starting to realise the benefits of Kindle a bit more.
FICTIONAL CHARACTER YOU PROBABLY WOULD HAVE ACTUALLY DATED IN HIGH SCHOOL:
GLAD YOU GAVE THIS BOOK A CHANCE:
Twilight. I didn’t understand the hype for ages then my friend lent me her copy and I loved it. I mean I don’t go back and re-read it all the time or anything but I’m glad I read it.
HIDDEN GEM BOOK:
I’m not sure if you’d call it a hidden gem but “I’ll Take New York” by Miranda Dickinson.
IMPORTANT MOMENT IN YOUR READING LIFE:
Two moments stick out. Firstly when I discovered Chicklit books when I was 18 and it made me fall in love with reading over again. But then also in my final year of university I just picked up reading again. I started to read a chapter of a book as a revision break and since then I’ve basically been a bookworm again.
Eddie the Eagle: My Story.
KINDS OF BOOKS YOU WON’T READ:
Horror books… Are they a thing? I’m a bit of a scardy-cat and those sort of things give me the creeps.
LONGEST BOOK YOU’VE READ:
According to Goodreads it is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
MAJOR BOOK HANGOVER BECAUSE OF:
I wouldn’t say I’ve ever really had a book hangover, but maybe Me Before You – Jojo Moyes
NUMBER OF BOOKCASES YOU OWN:
3 Billy Bookcases from Ikea – two of the wide ones and one narrow. If you put all my books together it would probably fill two of the cases.
ONE BOOK YOU HAVE READ MULTIPLE TIMES:
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone
PREFERRED PLACE TO READ:
In bed, or curled up on the sofa 🙂
QUOTE THAT INSPIRES YOU/GIVES YOU ALL THE FEELS FROM A BOOK YOU’VE READ:
“We might be heading off in different directions but there are strong ties that bind us. We are true friends, and true friendships endure for a lifetime.” From the Chocolate Lovers’ Wedding by Carole Matthews.
I love that quote. I have some great friends, some of whom I don’t talk to enough (although you know when you’re always the one making the effort and others don’t reciprocate it?). But I have 2/3 great friends who that applies to. I know I can contact them whenever even though I don’t talk to them every day, I know (and they know) that we’re all there for each other and we can message them for whatever.
What a book I regret reading? Probably All the Bright places… it was shocking!
SERIES YOU STARTED AND NEED TO FINISH(ALL BOOKS ARE OUT IN SERIES):
Mary Poppins. I think that’s the only series that I’ve started reading and haven’t yet finished. Or I suppose you could say “A Series of Unfortunate Events”, I’ve read them all over 10 years ago but I’m in the process of re-reading them now 🙂
THREE OF YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE BOOKS:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, The Recruit – Robert Muchamore, and I Heart New York – Lindsey Kelk.
UNAPOLOGETIC FANGIRL FOR:
Maybe the Fifty Shades series. I mean I’m not a major fan girl of it but I’m not afraid to admit that I like the books and the story. It annoys me when people just see it as the first book and haven’t given the second and third books a chance (sorry if that’s you by the way, not moaning at you).
VERY EXCITED FOR THIS RELEASE MORE THAN ALL THE OTHERS:
Apart from the usual yearly releases from my favourites – Lindsey Kelk, Lucy Diamond and Carole Matthews I’m quite looking forward to Fifty Shades Freed from Christian’s perspective (assuming EL James releases it).
WORST BOOKISH HABIT:
Buying too many books. Also maybe buying books then not reading them. Although my new years resolution was not to buy any more books until I’ve read all that are on my bookcase. I’ve mostly succeeded at that so far. I’ve only been buying the 99p kindle books that are on the deal of the day if they are books that I really want to read.
X MARKS THE SPOT: START AT THE TOP LEFT OF YOUR SHELF AND PICK THE 27TH BOOK:
Wow, the 27th book is still the top shelf of my bookcase! Some Kind of Wonderful – Giovanna Fletcher
YOUR LATEST BOOK PURCHASE:
DK Oceans. We used to have it in the library at school and I loved reading it. It was like £2 on Amazon and I couldn’t resist! Now I just wait for it to arrive :O
ZZZ-SNATCHER BOOK (LAST BOOK THAT KEPT YOU UP WAY LATE):
Eddie the Eagle: My Story
So I hope you enjoyed that post. Have you read any of these books? What would be in your A-Z reading survey? Let me know below 🙂
